Thanks to Don Tano and anyone behind him. For the first time I was able to learn the history of the city I visit. My wife and I enriched our cultural baggage and got some big laughs with these unconventional audio guides.

As a history student I was looking for a guide in Palermo who could explain the monuments to me at a reasonable price, but I realized this costs a lot. Browsing the net I bumped into Don Tano’s website and it was a blessing. Thanks Tano, you have taught me many things!

I am not tech-oriented at all and I can barely check my email and do some research online. Therefore, I was worried to not be able to get the guides on my phone. I did it in just a couple of taps, very easy! Don Tano is very cultured and funny!

I bought them while in Palermo as after a couple of hours sightseeing I realized that I wasn’t understanding anything. I found no audio guides in French but Don Tano and his British accent made me laugh while I better understood the city

Why Do You Need Audio Guides For Your Visit To Palermo?

Many of the attractions that you might hope to see offer very little in explanation or information for English speakers. It is a rarity to find English speaking tour guides through many of Palermo’s most favored attractions. You can hire professional and private tour guides for the city, but these can get very expensive. In fact, many of these services average 250€ for just an hour, and you are restricted to availability and scheduling.

Audio guides, on the other hand, give you all the information that you want in shorter bursts to allow you to experience more of the great city. Outside attractions such as Piazza Pretoria and Four Corners have little to no written information, so it is difficult for non-native speakers to understand the monuments.

Travel guide books only touch over Palermo and do not go into great detail, as there is so much to cover throughout Sicily. You will get all of the detail and nuance of Palermo with audio guides.

Why You Should Get Audio Guides on WeArePalermo.com

Ciao!

Hope you are doing as well as I am. I am Don Tano Bongiorno and I have regaled myself as a semi-official host and active guide for tourists wanting to experience Palermo through this site.

We are one of the most visited resources for the city, and all of Sicily, the world over. If you are like most of the visitors to Sicily, you are already a travel guide reader for We Are Palermo.

You might also know from your reading that this city is not as organized as other major Italian cities. Here we are not as prone to have trained staff to help non-Italian speaking tourists better understand and appreciate our attractions.

You can appreciate the need for audio guides, so I shouldn’t have to keep preaching to you about why they are a wise choice. Scroll down a bit and nab a copy for yourself.

Too often I see tourists confused before the monuments here hoping that someone can explain the significance to them. Fortunately, now with audio guides there are fewer that I encounter, but if you do not want to be a part of the confusion, get yourself the best solution with audio guides.

I have personally recorded my voice explaining the monuments along with some interesting stories tailored to details that were previously only known by the locals. I put a lot of time and effort into each recording, with a specific aim of helping you better understand the city and not struggle to make sense of it all.

Audio guides are like walking around with a friend who has known and loved this city his entire life and showing you all of the things that you should see while you are here, rather than glancing over the top attractions and leaving you wanting more.

You will not replicate the experience you can get from my audio guides.

To help you make a decision (if you have not already), here is a sample you can download and listen to for a feeling of how the rest of the guides sound and feel.

Arrivederci,

Don Tano

I reached out to several tour guides and they asked me no less than €150 per person for just an hour tour. The guides are way much cheaper and as informative as a human guide.

I’m not into audio guides, but touring Palermo without someone explaining things to you is like not visiting it at all. Most attractions have no explanations, and many places lack information materials. Don Tano’s Audio Guides proved to be extremely useful.
